Modi urges fintech firms to turn AI, tokenisation and quantum tech into real impact

Prime Minister Modi called on fintech companies at Global Fintech Fest 2026 to move agentic AI, tokenisation and quantum technologies from labs to practical use.

At the Global Fintech Fest 2026 in Mumbai, Prime Minister Modi emphasized that emerging technologies such as agentic AI, tokenisation and quantum computing can reshape financial services, but only if they are turned into tangible outcomes. He encouraged fintech firms to work together, set clear deployment targets, and develop independent ethical standards for data handling. Modi also called for a strong, adaptive regulatory framework that evolves alongside technological advances.

To boost consumer confidence, he suggested a Fintech Consumer Protection Index that would transparently rank companies on protection practices. The minister noted the sector’s growing youth, energy and willingness to take risks, reinforcing his optimism for a "Viksit Bharat." The event expects participation from over 70 countries, 700 speakers and thousands of companies and investors.
