Myanmar national arrested within hours after fatal stabbing in Cheras
A Myanmar man in his early 30s was detained less than 12 hours after a fellow Myanmar citizen was stabbed to death in Taman Maluri, Cheras.
City police chief Datuk Fadil Marsus reported that a young man in his 20s succumbed to critical abdominal wounds at Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz after being stabbed in Taman Maluri, Cheras. Within hours, a team from the Cheras district police headquarters Criminal Investigation Department located and arrested a Myanmar national in his early 30s at a nearby premises. The suspect was found carrying scissors thought to have been used in the attack.
He is described as unemployed and without any previous criminal history. Police are investigating the killing under Section 302 of the Penal Code, which pertains to murder, and plan to seek a remand order from the courts. The investigation continues as authorities gather further evidence.
