NATO says it has prepared response options to Russian cyber and hybrid threats

NATO announced it has prepared response measures against Russian cyber and hybrid attacks and urged more aid for Ukraine.

At a United Nations-related event in New York, NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte stated that the alliance has developed a range of response options to counter Russian cyber operations and other hybrid threats. He emphasized that NATO members must remain calm while urging countries worldwide to boost assistance for Ukraine. Rutte added that Russian President Vladimir Putin is in a tough position and will not succeed in the Ukrainian conflict.

His comments came after Danish military intelligence released a risk analysis warning of likely hybrid attacks against Western interests, including sabotage, cyber strikes on critical services, and disinformation campaigns. The alliance says it is prepared to implement the measures if needed to preserve its strength. The briefing highlighted the ongoing concern over Russia’s potential escalation in the cyber domain.
