NFL commissioner says York's plea deal will be examined under conduct policy

Roger Goodell confirmed the league is reviewing 49ers owner Jed York's no-contest plea for disorderly conduct and possession of criminal tools under the NFL’s personal-conduct policy.

The San Francisco 49ers owner did not attend the NFL owners’ meeting in Atlanta, but his legal situation remains under scrutiny. Goodell told reporters that the league will assess York’s recent plea through its personal-conduct guidelines and will issue a statement when a decision is reached. Body-cam video released by the East Palestine, Ohio, police shows York being arrested in a prostitution sting at a trailer park.

Why it matters

The review could lead to sanctions affecting the 49ers' ownership and league reputation.
