Norwegian train drivers expand strike, disrupting dozens of routes

The Norsk Lokomotivførerforbund has widened its strike, withdrawing additional drivers from duty and hitting routes throughout eastern and western Norway. The action targets key stations such as Kongsvinger, where all local drivers are now on strike, as well as Hamar, Oslo, Bergen and several smaller hubs. Vy reports that several hundred departures have already been cancelled and anticipates a larger disruption in the coming days.

Union leader Rolf Ringdal warned that the strike may last several weeks without a settlement, while Vy's communications chief Åge-Christoffer Lundeby said the company is still assessing the full impact. Negotiations have so far failed to produce an acceptable offer for the union.
