Ohio lawmaker calls South Carolina Senate candidate an ally of the swamp

Rep. Warren Davidson posted on X that Sen. Darline Graham is aligned with the political establishment, as she prepares for a runoff against Rep. Ralph Norman.

Rep. Warren Davidson used his X account to suggest that Sen. Darline Graham serves as an ally of the political "swamp," contrasting her with Rep. Ralph Norman, who promises to drain it. Graham topped the August 11 South Carolina Republican Senate primary and now heads into a runoff with Norman on August 25. She was appointed by Governor Henry McMaster to replace her late brother, Sen. Lindsey Graham, following his death.

President Donald Trump, who previously urged her candidacy, reaffirmed his full endorsement ahead of the runoff. Russell Fry, the third-place finisher in the primary, also called on his backers to support Graham. One outlet reported attempts to contact Graham’s campaign for comment.
