Oman's tourism sector surges in 2025 with record visitors and spending

Oman’s tourism sector saw strong growth in 2025, with visitor numbers reaching four million and spending topping one billion riyals.

According to a report by one outlet Centre for Statistics and Information, the Sultanate of Oman welcomed four million visitors in 2025, each staying an average of 6.5 nights and spending about RO256. Inbound tourism expenditure surpassed one billion riyals, while hotel occupancy climbed to more than five million guests, up from 3.5 million in 2018. The count of tourism-related establishments grew to over twenty-four thousand, with the majority located in Muscat Governorate, followed by Dhofar and North al Batinah. The sector’s workforce expanded, and its contribution to gross domestic product rose significantly, aligning with the objectives set out in Oman Vision 2040 to boost tourism’s role in the economy.
