Opposition leaders accuse BJP, RSS and Election Commission of electoral theft

Opposition parties gathered to denounce what they called a coordinated effort by the BJP, RSS and the Election Commission to steal votes, labeling the act as treason against the Constitution. Rahul Gandhi emphasized that such manipulation undermines democratic foundations. TMC chief Mamata Banerjee called for the arrest of CEC Gyanesh Kumar, while MP Abhishek Banerjee urged a look-out circular to prevent his departure.

M.K. Stalin argued that Kumar must resign and demanded a comprehensive investigation into the Election Commission's conduct, referencing the removal of 13.8 crore names from draft rolls across 31 states and UTs during the first three phases of the SIR exercise. Congress leaders Mallikarjun Kharge and Abhishek Singhvi reiterated that allegations of Form 6 misuse, software tampering and opaque decisions have long been ignored.

Party general secretary K.C. Venugopal criticized the CEC's unilateral actions, and Singhvi described the situation as a “double bulldozer” undermining institutional integrity.
