Orbán dismisses recent complaints as political propaganda, defends 16-year rule

At a closed-door event in Kötcse, Viktor Orbán labeled the recent complaints filed against the previous government as mere political propaganda, asserting that every decision taken over the past 16 years was lawful. He referenced the Volán investigation, noting that the probe was initiated by the former administration and that the former chief executive of the Hungarian National Asset Management Company had been summoned.

Orbán defended proposals to restore a HUF 5,000 monthly diesel-car payment, citing budget provisions for energy crises. He also claimed Hungary’s border policies have shielded Europe from migration flows. Emphasising the right’s record, he recalled four straight electoral wins and warned that the country can rely on Fidesz if needed, while underscoring the party’s focus on sovereignty, liberty and heritage.
