Super Typhoon Rosal has left roughly 41,868 people from 13,441 families affected in Northern Luzon and the Bicol region, the DSWD said in its latest progress report. The impact covers 91 barangays in Cagayan Valley and Bicol, including Catanduanes island. While 125 families (329 individuals) remain displaced, they are being hosted by relatives or friends rather than staying in evacuation centers, and no damaged homes have been reported.
The DSWD’s Disaster Response Operations Management, Information and Communication Division continues to track the situation via its field offices. PAGASA noted that the storm weakened slightly while moving east of Taiwan after originating on October 20. The agency’s figures may be updated as local governments submit further reports.
