Pakatan Harapan launches 'Melaka Rumah Kita' platform ahead of state polls

Pakatan Harapan introduced its "Melaka Rumah Kita" concept, outlining a staged manifesto for the upcoming Melaka state election.

Pakatan Harapan's election director Amirudin Shari unveiled the "Melaka Rumah Kita" concept as the centerpiece of the coalition's campaign for the 16th Melaka state election. The initiative will be rolled out in phases, starting with the inauguration of PH's main operations centre, which Shari described as the first pillar of a broader structure. He pledged to reveal a detailed manifesto covering the coalition's aspirations for Melaka's development, the welfare of its residents, and its governing agenda if granted a mandate.

Emphasising a constructive campaign, PH aims to highlight concrete proposals rather than rhetoric, drawing on its prior administration experience when Adly Zahari served as chief minister in 2018. The Election Commission has set nomination day for Oct 31, early voting on Nov 10, and polling on Nov 14. In the 2021 election, Barisan Nasional secured 21 of 28 seats, while PH won five and Perikatan Nasional two.

Why it matters

The rollout signals PH's strategy to contest Melaka's next government with a detailed policy platform.
