Pakistan rejects Afghan claim of destroyed border post, cites own defensive success

Pakistan's information ministry dismissed the Afghan defence ministry's report that a Pakistani post near the Spin Boldak border had been destroyed, calling the story fake and fabricated. According to the ministry, an attempted Afghan aggression in the Gulistan sector was thwarted during the night of Sept 24-25, leading to heavy punishment of opposing Taliban positions and the death of at least 13 Taliban personnel, with several more injured.

The ministry posted visuals it said documented the engagement and criticized the Afghan ministry for lying. This incident follows a series of escalations, such as Pakistani precision strikes in Afghanistan and the downing of drones that entered Pakistani airspace. Earlier, Pakistan conducted airstrikes against terrorist hideouts after attacks in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, claiming dozens of terrorist deaths. The ongoing friction underscores Islamabad's demand that Kabul dismantle terrorist sanctuaries used against Pakistan.
