PAN Aligns with Golkar to Back Prabowo Subianto for 2029 Presidency

In Jakarta, PAN declared its backing of Prabowo Subianto for the 2029 presidential election, echoing Golkar Party's prior endorsement. Deputy Chair Viva Yoga Mauladi confirmed the decision and noted that PAN has not selected a vice-presidential candidate, deferring that decision to Prabowo. The party will watch developments in the Constitutional Court case concerning Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka's academic qualifications, which the court dismissed as inadmissible.

Golkar's deputy chairman Ahmad Doli Kurnia had earlier stated the party's support for Prabowo and said the vice-presidential pick would be discussed later with coalition partners. Both parties emphasized their focus on ensuring the success of one outlet administration while preparing for the upcoming election.
