Parliamentary chamber begins secret vote on constitutional challenges to electoral reform

Five separate constitutional questions, each submitted by a different opposition group, are being examined in the Chamber after the Senate approved the reform. All objections will be decided in a single secret vote expected around 13:15-13:30. Speakers from parties such as Più Europa, Pd, M5s and Lega will use the allotted hour and twenty minutes for debate. After the vote, the leaders' conference will set the timetable for the final stage of the reform's approval.

The Chamber of Deputies has entered the decisive phase of reviewing the electoral reform, following the Senate's affirmative vote. Today, legislators are discussing five constitutional pre-emptive questions, each introduced by a distinct opposition faction, with the exception of Azione. The debate features speakers from Più Europa, Pd, M5s, Avs, Iv, Lega, Azione, Fi, Fdi, Nm and FnV, lasting a total of one hour and twenty minutes.

All five issues will be resolved through one secret ballot, anticipated to take place between 13:15 and 13:30. Once the vote is cast, a convened conference of group leaders will determine the exact schedule for the reform's final consideration. The governing majority plans to hold the ultimate vote by secret ballot, linking confidence motions to the first three articles amended by the Senate.
