Parliamentary group PACE-Întâi România rejects Siegfried Mureșan's premiership bid

The parliamentary faction PACE-Întâi România issued a statement rejecting the nomination of Siegfried Mureșan for prime minister, labeling the prospect as anti-national and a threat to Romania's independence. The group criticized Mureșan for allegedly attacking Romania in Brussels and demanding cuts to Romanian funds to rescue Dominic Fritz, likening his approach to turning the country into a de facto colony of European capitals.

It urged the liberal PNL and USR to withdraw his name to avoid a damaging parliamentary defeat and called for a credible premier candidate who would serve Romanian interests, not foreign ones. The statement also referenced the recent collapse of the Bolojan-USR government and the stalled attempts to install Eugen Tomac or Adrian Veștea, emphasizing the urgency of forming a genuinely Romanian cabinet.
