Perikatan Nasional asks Registrar of Societies to disclose eight Bersatu complaints
Perikatan Nasional has written to the Registrar of Societies seeking details of eight complaints filed by Bersatu that triggered a suspension of the coalition’s activities.
Perikatan Nasional has formally requested the Registrar of Societies to provide the particulars of eight complaints lodged by Bersatu, which led to a halt on the coalition’s operations. Deputy chairman Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man explained that PN’s lawyer submitted a letter on Monday asking for a detailed list of the accusations and a meeting with the registrar’s director-general. He argued that the registrar should investigate fairly before imposing any further limits, and that PN must understand the reasons behind the suspension.
Ibrahim also denied that the coalition had removed Bersatu, stating the party has not been called to any meetings. The coalition said it will wait for the registrar’s response to the request. The suspension had taken effect on September 23 after the registrar issued a notice seeking an explanation from PN.
Why it matters
The coalition’s ability to operate depends on clarity about the complaints that prompted its suspension.
