Philadelphia police hunt 22-year-old masked man after downtown terror spree
Authorities are searching for Zymire Hughes, 22, who wore a Chucky-style mask and harassed multiple people in downtown Philadelphia on Aug. 12.
Philadelphia police released footage of Zymire Hughes, 22, departing his home and taking a bus downtown before donning a Chucky-style Halloween mask at about 5:30 a.m. He approached a jogger near City Hall, threatened her and pursued her, causing a leg injury that will require extensive treatment. Later, SEPTA police encountered him in Suburban Station, ordered him to take off the mask, and observed him replace it with a black COVID-style covering while trying to conceal his face.
Hughes continued to intimidate passengers before evading the officers and catching a bus back to his apartment, where he stored the mask in a backpack.
