Phoenix Suns set to meet Kevin Durant and the Rockets in NBA Cup group stage

The NBA announced its Cup group-play slate on Aug. 12, confirming that the Phoenix Suns will travel to Houston to meet the Rockets on Nov. 25 at the Toyota Center, with Kevin Durant starring for Houston. All Cup games will be available on Amazon Prime, and the full NBA calendar is slated for release on Aug. 13. Phoenix competes in West Group A alongside the Nuggets, Mavericks, Jazz and Rockets, having posted a 5-8 record against those teams last season.

Their most recent Cup run ended in a 138-89 loss to Oklahoma City, the worst margin in franchise history. The upcoming contest carries added intrigue after the Suns dealt Durant to the Rockets in the summer of 2025 for Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks, the 10th overall pick in the 2025 draft and center Khaman Maluach. Additional group games for the Suns are scheduled against Denver, Utah, Dallas and later against Golden State and the Lakers.
