Polish minister says fuel supplies remain secure despite Saudi Aramco cut
Minister Wojciech Balczun assured that Poland will not run out of gasoline or diesel even after Saudi Aramco halted part of its oil deliveries to Europe.
In response to driver concerns over possible fuel shortages, Minister of State Assets Wojciech Balczun said Poland's gasoline and diesel supplies are intact and resilient. He highlighted that Orlen has proactively secured contracts covering a quarter of its demand from Norway and signed 16 additional agreements last week, bringing the total to 24 supply sources. Balczun stressed that these measures keep the market well-protected.
Analysts, however, warned that prices continue to climb after Saudi Arabia paused some oil exports following damage to the East-West pipeline, pushing European retail fuel costs to historic highs. The average national price of 95-octane gasoline reached 7.97 zł per litre, matching a June 2022 record, while diesel averaged 9.00 zł per litre.
