Pope Leo XIV begins four‑day France visit with Paris events

Pope Leo XIV arrived at Paris‑Orly and met President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace on Friday. He delivered a speech on artificial‑intelligence ethics at UNESCO, then rode in the papamobile from Notre‑Dame‑des‑Champs to Place Saint‑Michel before celebrating vespers in the restored Notre‑Dame cathedral. Evening events included a youth vigil at the Stade de France and an open‑air mass on the Place de la Concorde. On Sunday he travelled to Lourdes, where he met seven French clergy‑abuse survivors, and will continue to Metz for inter‑faith dialogue and a final mass before departing from Metz‑Nancy‑Lorraine Airport.
