President Prabowo Highlights Food and Energy Self-Sufficiency Milestones Nearing Two Years in Office

At an event marking the centenary of the Darussalam Gontor Islamic Boarding School in Ponorogo, President Prabowo declared that his government has achieved concrete successes for the nation. He highlighted that Indonesia now enjoys food self-sufficiency and maintains sufficient grain reserves, while also anticipating climate challenges such as El Nino and drought. The president announced that, since July 1, the country no longer imports diesel, producing it domestically from palm oil, which he said offers multiple benefits.

Looking ahead, he revealed a plan to construct thousands of new fishing vessels starting next year to better manage maritime resources. Prabowo emphasized that these initiatives reflect a broader drive toward national self-reliance in food and energy, crediting the supporting coalition, ministers and governors for their role.
