Prime Minister Rob Jetten's D66 speech interrupted by pro-Palestinian protesters

At the D66 congress in Amsterdam, Prime Minister Rob Jetten opened his speech aiming to project a hopeful tone for his government. Within minutes, five demonstrators supporting Palestine entered the venue and interrupted the proceedings, leading security personnel to briefly remove Jetten from the podium. The prime minister later said such interruptions happen to him occasionally and that he preferred to stay onstage.

After a short pause, he resumed his address, emphasizing that pessimists may shout louder but the coalition will achieve more. He highlighted recent achievements of his cabinet and stressed that the Netherlands cannot turn a blind eye to innocent civilians suffering in conflicts such as Gaza, Ukraine, Sudan and the West Bank.
