PSOE launches petition to overturn Supreme Court suspension of grandchildren law voters

In a new campaign, the Spanish Socialist Party has called on its grassroots to collect signatures demanding that the Supreme Court rescind its provisional suspension of voting rights for people who gained Spanish nationality via the grandchildren law. PSOE warned that the court’s decision, issued after a Justice Ministry instruction, threatens the democratic participation of thousands of naturalised citizens. The party attributes the suspension to political pressure from the conservative PP and far-right Vox, accusing them of trying to create a class of second-class citizens for electoral gain.

Supporters are urged to sign the petition to show mass opposition and force an immediate reinstatement of the constitutional right to vote. The Supreme Court is currently reviewing the case, with a final ruling expected soon. PSOE frames the issue as a fundamental defense of democracy and equal participation for all Spaniards.
