PTI Announces Multi-Route March Toward Islamabad Starting October 4

PTI plans a coordinated protest beginning tomorrow from southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with Chief Minister Sohail Afridi leading the main procession.

PTI's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa secretary of information, Shaukat Yousafzai, announced that the party's protest march will commence on October 4, starting from the province's southern districts. Chief Minister Sohail Afridi will lead the southern procession, while PTI provincial president and MNA Junaid Akbar Khan will head the column from Malakand Division. Additional groups from Peshawar and Hazara are set to join, all meeting in Swabi before advancing toward the capital, Islamabad.

Yousafzai said logistical preparations are finished and a lack of resources will not hinder the march. He also noted that negotiations between the government and opposition hinge on the government's stance, especially regarding access to imprisoned party founder Imran Khan. The party warned that imposing governor's rule would worsen the situation.

Why it matters

The march could intensify political pressure on the government over Imran Khan's detention and broader governance issues.
