Rescue teams resume search for missing crew after Black Sea drone strike
Search-and-rescue operations for the missing crew of a commercial vessel hit by a drone in the Black Sea have restarted this morning.
Following a drone impact on the commercial vessel Wine Trader in the Black Sea, Romanian authorities have re-initiated search-and-rescue missions for the remaining missing crew. The operation is led by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, with assets from the General Aviation Inspectorate and the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations. A Black Hawk helicopter will transport four rescue specialists to the damaged ship, then conduct a reconnaissance flight, while the emergency ship FIFI MAI 0101, carrying 13 rescuers, will also perform a reconnaissance sweep before moving to the incident zone.
To date, five crew members have been evacuated to hospital for examinations and treatment. The mission continues to prioritize locating and retrieving any persons still unaccounted for, adapting to weather conditions and the evolving situation.
