Russia bombs six Ukrainian energy sites hours after Trump announces energy agreement
Six Ukrainian energy facilities were struck by Russian missiles shortly after Donald Trump announced an energy agreement with Moscow, Ukrainian President Zelenski said.
According to President Zelenski, Russian forces bombed six Ukrainian energy facilities within hours of Donald Trump announcing an energy agreement with Moscow. The strikes targeted gasoline stations, power networks and other critical sites, leading to a power cut in Izyum and injuring 33 individuals. Overnight, western Ukrainian rail infrastructure also suffered damage.
Kyiv mayor Vitali Klitschko posted a Telegram video showing a drone strike on an apartment building in the Darnytskyi district, which set several cars ablaze, wounded 11 people and killed one. The energy operator Ukrenergo later reported outages in Kharkiv, Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia after its equipment was hit. Zelenski said the attacks demonstrate Russia's refusal to honor any energy cease-fire, attributing the timing to Putin's response to Trump's announcement.
