Russian drone strike on Kyiv high-rise kills two and injures dozens

A Russian drone hit a 25-storey residential block in Kyiv, killing a 59-year-old woman and a person in a nearby car, while eleven others were injured.

A Russian-launched drone struck a 25-storey residential tower in Kyiv’s Darnytsky district, hitting the structure between the 12th and 16th floors. Mayor Vitali Klitschko said the impact ignited several cars in the building’s courtyard. The city prosecutor confirmed that a 59-year-old woman and a person who was in a nearby vehicle were killed.

At least eleven people suffered injuries, among them a 17-year-old teenager with shrapnel, contusions and cuts; three of the wounded remain hospitalized. Ukrainian air defenses had earlier detected a high-speed drone over the capital. The incident adds to ongoing hostilities despite diplomatic talks on an energy cease-fire.
