Russian drones hit Hostomel warehouse, injuring four including child

A Russian drone strike on Hostomel in Kyiv Oblast wounded four people, among them an eight-year-old girl.

Russian unmanned aircraft bombarded the town of Hostomel in Kyiv Oblast on Oct. 2, targeting a warehouse that supplies pharmaceuticals and igniting nearby facilities. Tymur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv Oblast Military Administration, reported that two adult men and one woman sustained multiple injuries, and an eight-year-old girl was hit by shrapnel in her lower limb. One of the injured individuals required hospitalization, though officials have not yet detailed the severity of all wounds.

The strike also damaged a warehouse belonging to Venta LTD, Ukraine’s third-largest drug distributor, according to one outlet sources. Earlier that day, a separate drone hit Kyiv’s Southern Bridge over the Dnipro River, marking the fourth bridge attack in two days as Russia intensifies its campaign around the capital.

Why it matters

The attack shows Russia’s continued targeting of civilian infrastructure and raises concerns for public health supplies.
