Russian drones hit Kyiv hospitals and streets, injuring five people
Russian drones struck two Kyiv hospitals and other sites on Oct. 20, leaving five people injured, officials said.
Russian drones carried out multiple attacks on Kyiv on Oct. 20, targeting a hospital in Solomyanskyi District and a medical facility in Holosiivskyi District. Prime Minister Serhii Koretskyi said the drones struck the operating room on the sixth floor of the Strazheska Institute of the National Academy of Medical Sciences, injuring one patient, echoing a similar strike last year. Mayor Vitali Klitschko said debris also hit a market in Obolon, railway tracks in Solomyanskyi, and several buildings in Holosiivskyi, with the Kyiv City Military Administration raising the total number of injured to five.
A large fire broke out in Desnianskyi District near the Northern Bridge, though the bridge itself was not hit. Additional debris fell near a gas station on the Kyiv-Odesa highway, igniting multiple cars. Authorities continue to investigate the full impact of the attacks.
