Russian air and drone attacks across Ukraine have resulted in at least five fatalities and more than a dozen injuries in the last day, with casualties reported in Kyiv, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia Oblast and Sloviansk. Kyiv mayor Vitali Klitschko said 12 people were injured in the capital, including one who later died, and noted damage to a warehouse, a business centre and a McDonald’s restaurant. In Kherson, a 74-year-old woman was killed by a drone strike and two men were wounded; Zaporizhzhia officials reported a man killed and a woman injured after a strike on the power grid.
Sloviansk saw two men killed and one person injured. Moscow launched 200 drones overnight, 187 of which Ukrainian forces intercepted. Ukraine responded by striking Russia’s Syzran oil refinery and the Atlant Aero plant in Taganrog. Meanwhile, the commander of Ukraine’s 3rd Army Corps announced a new offensive near Lyman, clearing roughly 75 sq km of territory.
