Sánchez rallies in Gijón as parties finalize candidate lists for November 29 election

Pedro Sánchez delivered a pre-campaign speech in Gijón urging voters to reject the right-wing pact, while Frente Amplio announced symbolic list closers for Madrid.

Pedro Sánchez addressed a crowd in Gijón, accusing the centre-right coalition of aligning with the far-right and promising to amend the constitution to safeguard pension indexing. He was joined by Adriana Lastra, who emphasized defending pension rights, and Asturias president Adrián Barbón, who denounced Argentine leader Javier Milei and defended universal suffrage for Spanish citizens. Meanwhile, Frente Amplio revealed that painter Antonio López and former ecologist deputy Inés Sabanés will occupy the last spots on its Madrid list as a symbolic gesture toward culture and environmental activism.

Ada Colau circulated a letter to fellow candidates, including Sánchez, Feijóo and Abascal, asking them to refrain from deploying insulting AI tools. Vito Quiles announced the cancellation of his Bilbao talk, citing a high risk of incidents involving former ETA members and other protesters. Additional campaign activity included the PP’s announcement of its Senate pact with Vox, which the party described as a strategic alliance.
