Sanchez's chief of staff publishes call records to counter Vivas' claims

Diego Rubio released a timeline of calls between the Spanish and Ceuta governments to refute the Ceuta president's allegation that only three of ten requests were answered.

In response to accusations by Ceuta's president that the central government had ignored most of his requests, the Spanish prime minister's chief of staff, Diego Rubio, disclosed a detailed log of calls exchanged with Ceuta's cabinet between the 27th and 30th of July. The log indicates nine separate contacts, each answered either immediately or within minutes, covering topics such as the increase in sea arrivals and the need to inform ministries for temporary accommodation and transfers to the mainland.

The communications also reveal that Vivas did not mention any emergency declaration or police reinforcement during these calls. Subsequent messages confirm that the presidents of Spain and Ceuta spoke once, and that the Ceuta president later opted out of a press conference. The government concluded that Vivas's allegations were unfounded and that all his inquiries had been duly handled.
