Sarawak police seize over 190 kg of illegal drugs in two operations

Sarawak police, working with the Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (JSJN) of Bukit Aman, carried out two coordinated drug busts in September. On 11 September, officers raided a house in Kuchong, confiscating 107.518 kg of various narcotics—including 50.1 kg of MDMA powder, 32.3 kg of ketamine, 25 kg of liquid MDMA and 0.118 kg of Erimin 5 pills—valued at RM12.89 million, and arrested a 39-year-old local man whose urine tested positive for methamphetamine/amphetamine.

The suspect was remanded for seven days starting 12 September. A second raid on 14 September in Limbang seized 84.07 kg of drugs—81.21 kg of methamphetamine, 2.06 kg of ketamine and 0.80 kg of MDMA—worth an estimated RM4.3 million, and a 23-year-old male was taken into custody and remanded for seven days from 15 September. Authorities say the first syndicate has operated since July 2026 using a terrace house for processing, while the second has been active since November 2025, transporting drugs from Miri to Sabah by four-wheel-drive vehicle. Both investigations proceed under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
