Schools in Selangor, Melaka and Pahang Remain Open but Cancel Outdoor Activities Amid Haze
State education departments in Selangor, Melaka and Pahang will keep schools open tomorrow while banning outdoor activities because of haze conditions.
Tomorrow’s school day will proceed as usual in the Malaysian states of Selangor, Melaka and Pahang, but outdoor activities are prohibited because of haze. The Selangor State Education Department (JPN) recommended that students wear face masks and that school leaders track API readings, giving special attention to high-risk children. The Melaka JPN told parents that they may choose to keep their children at home if health concerns arise, as long as they inform the school, and urged everyone to follow official updates.
In Pahang, the JPN specified that schools in the Bentong district will remain open for classroom instruction only, with outdoor programs halted until further notice, and staff are also encouraged to wear masks. All three departments emphasized close monitoring of air quality and adherence to safety guidelines.
