Selangor PAS Youth demands action over alleged live pig imports through Port Klang

Selangor PAS Youth has called on the state government to intervene after reports that thousands of live pigs have been brought into Selangor via Port Klang, allegedly breaching the Sultan's decree.

Selangor PAS Youth has pressed the state government to address allegations that thousands of live pigs have entered Selangor through Port Klang, a move they say violates the Sultan's order permitting only imported pork meat for the non-Muslim population. Vice-chief Faizzuddin Zai highlighted growing public concern and cited statements from Abdul Rahman Kachil, who claimed around 800 pigs arrive each week from Kuching, Sarawak, and are taken to a presumed slaughterhouse.

Since July, the volume is said to total roughly 3,200 pigs per month, prompting the youth wing to question compliance with the Sultan's directive. The group also raised alarms about potential contamination of the Port Klang waters, which support local fishermen, and called for strict monitoring to protect hygiene, health, and the marine ecosystem. They warned the Selangor Menteri Besar not to ignore the issue or shield those they consider defying the ruler's decree.

Why it matters

The alleged import of live pigs could breach a royal decree and threaten public health and the local fishing economy.
