Senators Slotkin and Rosen denounce Hasan Piker's remarks blaming Jewish Americans

Livestreamer Hasan Piker warned his audience that American Jews who promote Israel could eventually become targets of violence, a statement that drew immediate condemnation from Senators Elissa Slotkin and Jacky Rosen. Slotkin argued that any community, whether pro-Israel, pro-Palestine, pro-choice or otherwise, should never face threats for its views, especially as anti-Semitic incidents have risen and a recent near-deadly attack occurred at Temple Israel in Michigan.

Rosen labeled Piker's remarks a "new low," stressing that blaming victims only fuels hate crimes against Jews. Several other Democratic officials also denounced the comments, and Michigan Senate hopeful Abdul El-Sayed, who had previously downplayed the issue, now sought to separate himself from the streamer. One outlet reached out for a response from Piker's team but received no reply. The controversy highlights ongoing tensions over discourse on Israel and antisemitism in the United States.
