Serian registers Malaysia's highest API level of 168, joining 20 other unhealthy zones

According to the Malaysian Air Pollutant Index Management System, Serian recorded the highest API reading in the country this morning, reaching 168 at 8:30 am. The second-highest values were logged in Kapit and Sri Aman, both in Sarawak, at 160. Unhealthy readings were also reported in Bintulu, Kuching, Samarahan, Sibu, Samalaju, ILP Miri and Limbang, as well as in Sabah's Politeknik Kota Kinabalu (153) and Kota Kinabalu (133).

On the peninsula, Nilai (158), Seremban (155) and several locations in the Klang Valley and Johor posted unhealthy levels. A further 38 districts recorded moderate air quality, while seven areas enjoyed good conditions. The previous evening, Serian's district police headquarters had logged an API of 173, the highest figure nationwide.
