Siegfried Mureșan warns Grindeanu would repeat controversial emergency decree

Siegfried Mureșan, named as the designated premier, used a Tuesday morning Facebook post to denounce Sorin Grindeanu for failing to reflect on the fallout from the OUG 13 emergency ordinance. Mureșan recalled the massive street demonstrations in 2017 and 2018 that opposed the decree and defended the judiciary and rule of law. He asserted that Grindeanu’s earlier ordinance effectively legalized corruption and that Grindeanu only regretted being held accountable for it.

The post warned that if Grindeanu were to lead the government again, he would likely issue another decree that benefits thieves and would govern without fearing protests. Mureșan concluded that the PSD is dangerous and should not determine Romania’s future or that of its honest people.
