Six Arab football federations, including Qatar and Morocco, endorse FIFA chief Gianni Infantino

Six Arab national football associations, represented by Qatar, Lebanon, Morocco, Sudan, Egypt and Mauritania, released a joint declaration affirming their confidence in FIFA President Gianni Infantino. The statement praised his efforts to grow the game globally and to enhance opportunities across all regions, emphasizing football's capacity to unite communities. Their backing arrives as UEFA, AFC and CONCACAF have called for Infantino to step down after his aborted plan to sell a share of World Cup commercial rights to private investors.

The Arab federations noted the importance of Arab football in promoting cooperation among member associations. Four of the six signatories also serve as members of the FIFA Council, adding weight to the endorsement. Despite opposition from three major confederations representing the majority of FIFA members, Infantino retains substantial support within the organization.
