Snow may fall early next week in Kilpisjärvi amid strong winds
Meteorologist Eevi Silvennoinen says snow could arrive Tuesday night in Kilpisjärvi, but a slight temperature shift may turn it into rain.
According to Ilmatieteen laitos meteorologist Eevi Silvennoinen, a low-pressure area will approach Lapland early next week, delivering intermittent rain that could become snow on Tuesday night in Kilpisjärvi. The forecast remains tentative, as minor temperature variations could prevent snow from settling. The week will start with cloudy skies and scattered showers, while Monday night and Tuesday night see the most significant moisture influx.
Tuesday is also projected to be the windiest day, with gusts reaching 15 m/s broadly and up to 20 m/s in western parts. Across the country, temperatures are expected to stay between eight and fourteen degrees, with colder pockets in northern Lapland.
