SNP rolls out its largest pro-independence push since the 2014 vote

The Scottish National Party has launched a £100,000 “Choose Scotland” campaign, the biggest independence effort since the 2014 referendum.

The Scottish National Party announced a £100,000 “Choose Scotland” initiative, described as the most ambitious independence campaign since the 2014 referendum. Running through to Christmas, the effort will be anchored by a new party political broadcast and a massive online advertising push, billed as the largest ever outside an election. A survey targeting roughly 1.5 million Scots will accompany the campaign, while activists will distribute leaflets across the country on St Andrews Day.

The First Minister said the party now holds the biggest pro-independence majority in Parliament and that the campaign aims to let voters choose a future built on Scotland’s energy wealth, EU re-entry, and better care for pensioners. The launch coincides with the party’s conference, which the First Minister said will harness growing momentum for constitutional change.

Why it matters

The campaign could reshape Scotland’s political landscape and influence future independence debates.
