Sophie Adenot's ISS crew returns after Dragon capsule leak delays handover
French astronaut Sophie Adenot and three crewmates left the International Space Station after a leak in SpaceX’s Dragon capsule postponed the crew swap.
Sophie Adenot, together with Americans Jessica Meir and Jack Hathaway and Russian Andreï Fediaïev, formed Crew-12 on the ISS. Their return depended on the arrival of Crew-13, which was held up by a leak discovered in SpaceX’s Dragon spacecraft. The problem was fixed, and the incoming crew launched during the night from Thursday to Friday, allowing the French astronaut’s team to begin their journey home.
Why it matters
The mission concludes a scheduled ISS crew rotation and underscores safety protocols after a spacecraft leak.
