Stasi's lawyer hints at shocking new evidence unrelated to 2007 case

Giada Bocellari, defending convicted murderer Alberto Stasi, said her team possesses a new element that will cause a stir, but it does not pertain to the 2007 DNA investigations.

During an appearance on La7's Omnibus, Giada Bocellari announced that the defense of Alberto Stasi, serving a 16-year sentence for the killing of Chiara Poggi, has secured additional material. She emphasized that this forthcoming evidence will attract considerable attention, yet it is separate from the DNA tests conducted on Stasi's bicycle pedals in 2007. The prosecutor in Pavia has already reopened the case to examine Andrea Sempio's possible involvement.

Why it matters

A potential new piece of evidence could alter the legal outcome of a high-profile murder case in Italy.
