Talarico Leads Paxton by Small Margin in New Texas Senate Poll
A recent Trafalgar poll shows Democrat James Talarico ahead of Republican Attorney General Ken Paxton by just over three points in the Texas Senate race.
A Trafalgar poll of likely Texas voters taken Oct. 6-8 placed Democrat James Talarico ahead of Republican Attorney General Ken Paxton by a margin of more than three points, giving Talarico 47.1% support and Paxton 43.6%. Libertarian candidate Ted Brown captured 1.8% and 7.6% of respondents remained undecided, with a margin of error of ±2.9 points. Talarico, who missed recent campaign events due to the flu, reappeared at the Austin City Limits festival and is set to resume his campaign trail.
Both campaigns have intensified fundraising, with Paxton’s team reporting a recent surge in contributions and Republicans deploying a Texas-focused PAC. The contest is classified as a pure toss-up and could be pivotal for Senate control in the upcoming midterm elections.
