Teen football community mourns murder of youth worker in Älvsjö hall

A 25-year-old woman who supported disadvantaged youths was shot dead in Kämpetorpshallen, and two teenage boys are being held as suspects.

During a routine Monday training session on the artificial turf in Älvsjö, participants learned that a 25-year-old woman who worked with socio-economically vulnerable youth had been fatally shot the previous Friday in Kämpetorpshallen. Two adolescent males are in custody, with investigators suggesting a revenge motive tied to a family member cleared of murder-related offenses. Coaches Gabriel Fogelsjö and Magnus Backstorp expressed disbelief that criminal violence claimed the life of someone with no ties to that world.

District director Lee Orberson praised the victim's commitment to the neighborhood's youngsters, calling the loss a major tragedy. Youths who knew her, like 15-year-old Qusai, recalled her willingness to listen and help, underscoring the community's grief and concerns about safety.
