Three family and friends of Yvelines gunman placed in police custody
Following the fatal attack in Trappes and La Verrière, three people close to the suspect were detained, including his mother.
In the aftermath of the terrorist shooting in the Yvelines towns of Trappes and La Verrière, which claimed one life and wounded five, including a 12-year-old girl, investigators have taken three people from the gunman's immediate circle into police custody. Among them is the mother of Kevin T., 39, who allegedly presented herself to authorities after her son’s arrest. The suspect was found with cocaine, tear-gas canisters and a Sten MK II submachine gun, and his apartment in Plaisir was discovered to contain gas cylinders set as traps.
The anti-terrorist prosecutor’s office confirmed the mother’s detention and noted that the suspect’s police custody may last up to 96 hours, with a recent extension announced. The case remains under active investigation as officials work to determine the weapon’s origin and any further accomplices.
