Three women killed and dozens injured in Russian strike on Kyiv apartment block

A Russian attack on a multi-storey residential building in Kyiv's Desnyansky district killed three women and wounded 36 people, including a child.

Russian forces bombed a residential block in Kyiv's Desnyansky district, located on the Dnipro River's left bank, resulting in three female fatalities aged 35, 58 and 84. Thirty-six individuals were injured, including a small child. Kyiv police erected a mobile tent to collect more than 80 statements about material losses and are cataloguing the attack as a war crime.

Separate reports noted a jet-powered Shahed drone strike on civilian infrastructure in Luck, western Ukraine, wounding six people, two seriously. Additional Russian assaults in western cities such as Rivne left eight injured, four of whom remain in hospital.

Why it matters

The attack highlights the ongoing civilian toll of the conflict and raises concerns about war-crime documentation.
