Train drivers continue strike after failed talks with Vy and employer group

Negotiations between Vy and the train drivers' union continued through the weekend, with Vy putting forward an offer of equal pay for equal work. Union leader Rolf Ringdal said the proposal fell short on issues such as assignment locations, work patterns and days off, leading the union to maintain the strike. Employer group Spekter confirmed the discussions but reported that they did not produce a settlement, and its communications director Tonje Sagstuen lamented the union's decision to keep striking.

Spekter stressed that its doors remain open for renewed negotiations at any time. The strike, now in its second week, has already caused numerous service cancellations and delays across several routes.
