Trump accuses LeBron James of disrespecting the national anthem at NBA game

Donald Trump used his Truth Social platform to denounce LeBron James, alleging the NBA star disrespected the U.S. national anthem during a recent game. He attached a video that captures James stretching his arms and performing shooting motions while the anthem was sung, standing alongside members of the Philadelphia 76ers. Trump called for James to apologize to the nation’s fallen heroes and veterans.

The president has a history of targeting athletes over anthem-related actions, dating back to protests by NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick. James, a prominent figure in the Black Lives Matter movement, has often voiced progressive causes. The Philadelphia 76ers did not immediately reply to inquiries. No official response from the NBA was included in the report.
