Trump to visit Nassau County police facilities with GOP governor hopeful Bruce Blakeman

Donald Trump is set to arrive at Republic Airport on Long Island this weekend to inspect Nassau County’s "state-of-the-art" police, sheriff, probation and fire facilities together with county executive and New York GOP gubernatorial hopeful Bruce Blakeman. Blakeman said the tour will honor the men and women of those agencies for protecting the county, state and nation. During the visit Trump intends to publish 2025 FBI statistics that he claims will reveal the largest year-over-year drop in violent crime.

Blakeman has publicly defied sanctuary-state legislation recently approved by Democratic lawmakers in Albany, which limits cooperation with ICE. The report also recalls a recent NHL matchup at UBS Arena where Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin became the league’s all-time leading scorer, an event witnessed by Wayne Gretzky and Blakeman. Earlier, Trump’s last Long Island appearance was for the 2025 Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black.
